Finnish drug delivery technology and drug development company DelSiTech Ltd welcomes Dr. Outi Heikkilä, as the new Director, Head of Manufacturing. The new position took effect in January 2022.
Dr. Outi Heikkilä comes with a strong scientific background in cell biology and virology, especially on virus gene therapy vectors. She has a MSc in Biochemistry and PhD in Virology from Turku University. Prior to joining DelSiTech she has worked for five years in a Finnish biopharmaceutical CDMO Biovian, recently as a Production Manager in a cell bank and virus vector manufacturing. Her core competences include cleanroom operations, GMP manufacturing, and quality requirements of investigational medicinal products.
“I am excited about this opportunity to build up GMP manufacturing processes in DelSiTech. DelSiTech’s silica-based drug delivery platform has a great potential to become a leading technology platform for long-acting biological therapeutics.” said Outi.
